Performing Lines

Center Stage Dance is proud to provide the opportunity for dancers to dance at a competitive level. While participating in our competition program our instructors continue to give each dancer a solid dance education while enhancing each dancer’s level of performance technique and showmanship. Our competition staff prides itself on maintaining a positive learning environment while teaching students the disciplines of competition.

  • Competition dance requires a higher level of commitment from dancers, parents and staff. Dancers are required to take additional ballet technique, jazz/tap technique, and production classes along with their team class.
  • Dancers are required to attend one dance conventions (Mini level teams) two dance conventions (junior & senior level teams) which are held in the Twin Cities. This gives dancers the opportunity to work with professional choreographers from cities like New York and Los Angeles.
  • Competition team members will incur additional costs. These include costumes, makeup, competition fees, convention fees and shoe expenses. We work hard to keep these costs as low as possible.
  • Performing Lines compete at four nationally rank competitions which are held locally.
  • Performing lines go to nationals every other year.
  • Placement on a team is by audition only.
  • We encourage dancers who wish to audition to enroll in summer technique classes so that the instructors can better prepare your son/daughter for the August competition workshop.

If you have any questions regarding our competition program, please call the Studio @ 952-895-3484.

Pictures

Studio Pictures are taken in May for all classes at the studio by a professional photographer. Parents are under no obligations to purchase pictures. However, we do ask that you allow your son/daughter to participate in the class group pictures. Our specific picture date will be determined at a later time.
